Pentagram partner Astrid Stavro is a graphic designer with an international reputation for concept driven design, distilling complex ideas into uniquely simple and emotionally engaging solutions.
Before joining Pentagram in 2018 she directed her own studio in Barcelona for ten years. In 2013 she co-founded the brand and design consultancy Atlas with Pablo Martín. Her work encompasses brand identities, editorial and exhibition design, wayfinding systems and packaging for clients such as Phaidon, Camper, Barcelona Design Museum, Laurence King, The National Portrait Gallery, Reina Sofía Museum, Fedrigoni, Wallpaper* magazine and Cahiers du Cinéma.
Stavro’s work has received over 150 international awards. Her work has been widely published and exhibited and Stavro has chaired and judged numerous international design competitions. She has written articles for top international design journals and is frequently asked to speak at conferences across the globe. Stavro has taught at Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design and is currently a Visiting Lecturer at the Royal College of Art. Brazilian-born Australian, Carmela Soares has worked in Brazil and Portugal before landing in Australia. She has worked at Ogilvy, DDB, JWT, Havas and Isobar, before joining Clemenger BBDO Melbourne.
Carmela has won more than 100 awards internationally, including Cannes, D&AD, OneShow, Webby's, but she particularly likes to mention Campaign Asia ‘Women Leading Change’ awards, as well ‘B&T Women in Media’. She's also very proud to have spoken at the opening of D&AD Rare.
Catherine Griffiths is an Aotearoa New Zealand designer, typographer and artist. Projects include the Wellington Writers Walk, a series of 15 large-scale concrete text sculptures (2002, 2004); the curation and co-organisation of TypeSHED11 (2009); and her ongoing Vowel Series. Catherine is active in the local and international design community, teaches on invitation, assists students, delivers lectures and hosts the occasional typ gr ph c workshop. In 2018 she started a gender and inclusivity protest with three posters, launched Designers Speak (Up), and initiated the Directory of Women Designers.
Selected works are in the collections of the Stedelijk Museum; National Hangeul Museum, Seoul; Shanghai Institute of Visual Art; Metropolitan Museum of Art Special Collection Library (books); Special Collection at the Art Institute of Chicago (books). She has exhibited in New Zealand, Chile, France, USA, China and Korea.

Claire Dawson is Creative Director and Co-Founder of Toronto-based design agency, Underline Studio. Her work has been widely published and honoured with awards from the most distinguished national and international competitions, among them D&AD, the New York Type Directors Club, the One Show, the Advertising & Design Club of Canada, the New York Society of Publication Designers, the National Magazine Awards, Graphis and Communication Arts. She has served as a judge for the One Show, as well as many other national and international creative awards competitions. Jess Lilley is an award-winning advertising creative director, public radio maker and writer who enjoys a focus on social change projects. Currently a Creative Director at Leo Burnett, Melbourne, her work has also taken her to Toronto and London and has been recognised globally, including by D&AD, Cannes Lions and Clio Awards. As well as advertising, Jess co-edits Gabberish.com – creative therapy for creative minds. Jo Roca is the Creative Director of For The People. She wholeheartedly believes in the power of design and branding, the shift it's had with technology and the influence they have on any business. Maggie Tang is an Australian creative director living and working in Berlin. She is Head of Brand Design at Ableton and a design alumni of Deuce Design, Moon Communications Group, Frost* and Houston Group. Meg Donohoe is a Partner & Managing Director at DIA, a Brooklyn based creative studio specializing in kinetic identity systems, graphic design, and typography.
Starting off in Account Management in NYC, Meg quickly realized she wanted to explore a path closer to the creative and enrolled in graphic design courses at SVA. She then moved to California and found herself working in production, which was a perfect balance between the creative process and business management. After a year in California, Meg landed in Chicago. She began freelancing at motion graphics studios managing creative teams, clients, schedules and budgets. New York was always calling her back, so she left Chicago and returned to NYC where she's been for the last 10 years. Before founding DIA with her partner, Mitch Paone, she was freelancing in NY producing film titles, network content, commercials, and indie television shows.

Nadia Aftimos is Digital Creative Director at Designworks, a multidisciplinary practice based in Auckland, New Zealand, where she creates engaging experiences and interactive solutions for a wide range of clients and projects. Nerida Murphy is Creative Director of Futurebrand Australia. Formally Associate Creative Director at Re, and Creative Director of her own business Purple Goat founded in 2000. Her focus is on creating brands made for people – meaningful, connected brands that are agile, adaptable and future-proofed. She loves challenging the status quo; breaking rules; creating positive, lasting, transformational change; and, driving inspired creative collaboration.
As well as design qualifications, Nerida also holds a business degree and a Masters in Marketing and is passionate about continuing education – encouraging designers to think holistically – creatively, strategically and commercially. She sat on the Australian Graphic Design Association council throughout 2016/17 and is an active member of AGDA for over 18 years.

Nic Graham and Roz Nazerian became best of friends whilst studying at the University for the Creative Arts. In 1997, two years after graduation and working in industry, they co-founded East London design studio, Minx Creative.
As Creative Directors, they have built a confident studio delivering effective design and strategy with the inclusive provision of strong project management. As practising designers, they nurture a progressive path without compromising craft, standards and application.
Their studio’s three-month Internship Programme has provided a platform for mentoring, learning and delivery and included permanent recruitment of the four Programme graduates.

In a career spanning 35 years, Rita Siow has worked in advertising, publishing and design before joining the TAFE tertiary sector in South Australia. As executive director of the Australian Graphic Design Association from 1999 to 2013, she also established many initiatives and programs to advance the design profession and design education. Rita has been awarded the AADC Hall of Fame ‘Watering Can’, three AGDA Pinnacles amongst many other distinctions, and in 2017 was honoured as one of twenty five women to have made a significant contribution to the history of Australian graphic design.
She is currently an advisory board member and adjunct senior lecturer of the UniSA School of Art, Architecture and Design, and audit committee chair and honorary life member of the International Council of Design (ico-D).

Shabnam Shiwan is partner and Creative Director at Osborne Shiwan, an internationally recognised design studio focussed on strategically led creative.
Shabnam was born in Fiji where she developed an interest in the arts, before emigrating to New Zealand to study Design at Auckland University of Technology. As one of New Zealand’s most celebrated creatives, Shabnam has helmed some of the most contemporary and iconic work to come out of the Asia-Pacific region. She believes great design happens with the perfect amalgamation of arts and commerce, hearts and minds.
Shabnam is actively involved in the design community as an awards judicator, speaker and creative leader. She continues to work alongside design educators with an aim to grow and mentor the next generation in design.

Tanja Hall founded her business JOLT, a strategic brand and service design agency, at the age of 25. She has partnered closely with clients to develop business models, define brand strategy and enhance customer experience. She is an advocate of collaboration and has led creative teams to design and manage brand identity and visual communications for a diverse client portfolio.
Tanja is a past Australian Graphic Design Association National Councillor and led the AGDA Queensland chapter as President for five years where she worked to deliver events, initiatives, education and professional tools to members and industry while increasing awareness of the value design contributes to business, education and culture. She has actively contributed to the design profession as a guest speaker, awards judge, mentor and advisor for education and design initiatives.
Tanja was the National Chair for ‘OPTIMISM' Icograda International Design Week Brisbane 2010 and was a Smart State Fellow Finalist in the Queensland Premier’s Design Awards 2011 in recognition of her contribution to developing design culture in Queensland.

Verònica Fuerte is a designer and illustrator from Barcelona. After earning a degree in Graphic Design from ELISAVA and a MA in Typeface Design from EINA she worked for several design studios in Barcelona. In 2007 she founded her own studio, Hey, which has grown steadily since. She received the ADC Young Guns 7 award and her work has appeared in prestigious media such as It’s Nice That, DesignBoom, Communication Arts and AIGA. Verònica also teaches in several different universities in Barcelona and frequently speaks at international conferences.

Yah-Leng is the Founding Creative Director and Principal of Foreign Policy Design Group, a design and innovation consultancy based out of the tropical island of Singapore. She also co-created the official museum store Gallery & Co at the National Gallery Singapore.
Yah-Leng was formally trained at the Art Institute of Boston before moving to New York City where her creative career blossomed. In 2007, she moved back to her hometown of Singapore where she co-founded Foreign Policy Design Group. Her works have been also recognized and honored by prestigious awards, accolades and publications.
Yah-Leng is the current President of The Design Society Singapore and she had sat on the advisory board of the Temasek School of Design Singapore. She has also often been invited to speak and judge at festivals, conferences and institutions globally. Yah-Leng was named one of The Disrupters and Industry Leaders in 2017 and 2018 respectively on The Tatler 300 List by Singapore Tatler. She has recently been inducted as an AGI (Alliance Graphique Internationale) member.
